What our students say…
Our courses are for you if:
★ you share our values and agree to Our Community Agreements in our learning environment
★ you’ve felt excluded or marginalised in previous courses, and you want a better experience
★ you share our commitment to interpersonal practices that increase accessibility and prioritise inclusion for people and communities often denied equity in dominant culture learning spaces
★ you prefer small classes (maximum limit of 8 students per cohort) in which you can make close connections and get customised support
★ you are passionate about critical reflection and depth inquiry
★ you want to cultivate your awareness and skills in applying anti-oppressive, liberating practices in everyday life
★ you’re looking for learning experiences that actually make a difference to equity-deserving communities
Our certificate courses are designed to:
★ fill curricular and service gaps
★ address societal inequities
★ build skills to meet the needs of equity-deserving people and communities that have been marginalised or excluded
Our intensive courses like Flying Monkeys No More™ are scheduled in advance and have specific times listed. However, for longer courses with weekly or fortnightly live sessions, we poll students after enrolments have closed to schedule classes at times when they’re able to meet.
Our policies of Keeping It Connected and Moving to the Margins mean that we keep class sizes small and prioritise accessibility for students across time zones. This means we might create multiple cohorts where necessary to ensure access for people in different time zones around the world.
We use a “green bottles” sliding scale as part of our anti-capitalist collectivist fee structure. This means that courses with more students will cost less per student. The Actual Cost rate, which is how much it costs to hold the course, is provided at the end of each course listing on this page, along with the income equity fee scale showing the range of costs. The application form for each course lists specific Actual Cost and Pay It Forward tuition fee rates.
We try not to turn anyone away due to inability to pay. For this reason, although the application form for each course lists the specific Actual Cost and Pay It Forward tuition fee rates, we also offer a limited number of Hardship rates for people with financial disadvantage. Although we wish we could offer more hardship rates, we are also working with course facilitators who have disability needs, no access to disability funding, and financial disadvantages without access to intergenerational wealth, inheritance, or homeowner privileges.
Our hardship rates are adapted based on individual need, so an exact fee amount is not provided for discounted tuition fees. After we receive registration forms from accepted students in each cohort, we will then invoice students with any applicable discounts for higher student numbers reflected in the invoice. Note that due to the inability to predict admitted student numbers in advance, we are unable to guarantee any post-registration discounts. Hardship rates are adapted based on individual need, so a specific fee amount is not provided for discounted tuition fees. After we receive registration forms from accepted students in each cohort, we will then invoice students with any discounts for higher student numbers reflected in the invoice.

★ Certification course focused on knowledge, awareness, and skills needed to identify and respond to coercive control and other forms of partner abuse among people with gender, body, kinship, and sexuality lived experiences that have been excluded, marginalised, or misunderstood in the Family Violence (FV), Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), and relationship and family therapy sectors.
★ Goes beyond the tokenistic, heteronormative, homonormative, and mononormative approaches in many FV/IPV and relationship and family therapy trainings to prioritise people with marginalised gender, body, kinship, and sexuality (GBKS) lived experiences
★ Examples and situations covered in this course focus specifically on people with neurodivergent, plural, queer, queerplatonic, aro and/or ace spectrum, non-binary and binary trans lived experiences, agender people, genderfluid people, people with colonially marginalised traditional genders, people with innate variations of sex characteristics / intersex people, multigamous people (including polyamorous and multi-partnered people), and people in BDSM/kink kinships (including D/s relationships)

★ Facilitates critical reflection on the cisgenderist, heterosexist, white privileged, Anglocentric, classist, and mononormative concepts of gender in many practitioner trainings on partner abuse and specific techniques for challenging these exclusionary and discriminatory approaches in your work
★ Explores dimensions of oppression and harm beyond just gender, such as racialised, ableist, classist, and other forms of partner abuse and how they can intersect
★ Covers peer-reviewed research, therapeutic guidance, legislative and ethical concerns, and lived experience wisdom from people and communities dealing with coercive control and other forms of partner abuse
★ Provides specialised guidance in identifying how systemic forms of oppression affect people’s capacity to access and receive affirming support to deal with partner abuse
★ Practitioners who successfully complete this course and who continue to uphold the Centre’s ethics and values will receive accreditation as Flying Monkeys No More® Certified Practitioners, including a digital badge that you can display on your website and online materials, and will be added to our publicly searchable online Flying Monkeys No More®-certified practitioner directory
