Who is the Centre for?

A person with a megaphone wearing a long-sleeved shirt, in a group of people of multiple skin tones and genders who are walking or using wheelchairs to cross a bridge, as part of an anti-racist, anti-capitalist, climate resistance action. This image reflects the ongoing work of bridging gaps in understanding of power, privilege, and oppression as part of everyday activism, beyond just rallies and demonstrations.

Activists, Caregivers, & Community Workers

The Centre is here for you if you are passionate about learning how to apply liberating practices in your everyday life. Whether you are involved in everyday activism, unwaged forms of caregiving and domestic labour, community work, or a combination, you want to use the opportunities you have to make change in your local communities, chosen families, polycules, kinship groups, or social circles.

Two people of contrasting skin tones sitting on a couch beside each other. The fem spec appearing person appears to be speaking and making hand gestures, while the masc spec appearing person listens attentively with hand on forehead. A therapeutic practitioner is partially visible in the foreground, witnessing the exchange but not controlling or dictating the interaction. This dynamic symbolises the potential for healing and connecting work that transcends coercive, condescending, and authoritarian clinical approaches.

Therapeutic & Healing Practitioners

We invite you into an anti-oppressive community of care and practice that transcends barriers to solidarity across professions, cultural frameworks, and class divides. We welcome you if your work focuses on health, healing, and wellbeing in culturally humble and destigmatising ways. We welcome you if are critically reflective about your societal position and methods.

This collage symbolises the diverse forms of creative and expressive arts that our community nourishes and is nourished by.

Creative Spirits, Independent Scholars, & Archivists

We nurture creative spirits, independent scholars, and archivists, including artists, writers, filmmakers, musicians, singers, curators, fans, sex workers, people who combine these callings, and more. We support you in challenging societal oppressions through creative and intellectual expression, collaborating on direct actions, and sharing creative and expressive arts content that nourishes the Centre community.

“Nonviolence pursues heart change, cultural change, AND systemic change.
It is not a ‘Why can’t we all just get along?’ ideology.
It is a philosophy and strategy for true peace, which includes justice.”

Dr Bernice A. King (she/her)
